Blue Green Garlic

We’re on a fresh garlic kick at our house. Garlic is one of those spices that come and go for us. We’ll forget about it for a while, but then it will resurface and become a necessity, until we have another garlic lapse.

Yikes, green garlicA few weeks ago I baked pork chops with soy sauce, mushrooms & garlic. It was incredible. It had a very ‘marinated in wine’ taste to it. We’ve been trying to re-duplicate it on chicken & fish.

Well, I made some more pork chops with the aformentioned ingredients again. This time I also used a packaged marinade that did indeed boast wine as an ingredient. I pull it out of the oven and ‘Whoa’. Turns out that garlic contains sulfur compounds which reacted with something in the marinade and formed copper sulfate. The result was a funky looking blue green garlic, which turns out to be perfectly safe to eat.

Changing Jobs

Sometimes, life changes direction quicker than you are anticipating. That happened to me 8 days ago. My job at one web design company ended. In fact everyones job at that web design company ended.

Well, 6 days later I am working at another company. The lapse between employment was short, although sickeningly long. Thanks to God and thanks to my beautiful wife. Without either of them, I’m not sure what I would have done.

The web design company I’m at now is Austin-Lloyd Marketing. Mike, Dean, Ken and Kurt are all talented and great guys to work with. I look forward to working future projects with them.

I did meet a truly great guy named Andy Knight during my job search. He has done some amazing things where he is at and is moving on to another great project. I wish you well Andy. And, thanks for the book!
